What is God's oversight?

God's oversight is the most sacred, wise, and mighty preservation and rule of all the creatures he has created and of his work.

1. Two sparrows are not sold for a penny? And not one of them fell to the ground without the permission of their father (Matthew 10:29).

2. The Lord is righteous in all your ways and holy in all things (Psalm 145: 17).

3. This wisdom comes from the Sovereign Lord God. All of God's counsel is wise, and his judgment is the source of wisdom (Isaiah 28:29).

4. Holder of all things in the Word of His might (Hebrews 1: 3). His kingdom rules over all (Psalm 103: 19).

God enforced his command not only in creation but also in supervision. According to the Q&A, there are two types of God's oversight: (1) He preserves, and (2) He rules. To explain the question-and-answer lesson, let us consider Mukul in two contexts:

preservation

9.1 As we see in the picture, Mukul are sleeping peacefully even in the storm. This is a picture of what a believer should do. Because he must realize that God is the one who saves and protects. People often forgets that. They speak of the "laws of nature" and the "discoveries of modern science." They seem to have forgotten that God is "the possessor of all things in the Word of His might" (Hebrews 1: 3), and that it is easy for us as Christians to forget this. That, "God is not far off from any of us ... in Him our life, our motion, and our being" (Acts 17: 27-28). You are making all of them [all things]” (Nehemiah 9: 6). Even if God had not protected Satan's existence by the power of his Word (but not by his wickedness), he could not have survived even for a moment!

Rule

In Figure 9.2, we see that Mukul is in the midst of many dangers of war. However, the picture shows a part of Psalm 91. It is said here, "A thousand people will fall beside you, ten thousand will fall around you, but no danger will touch you ..." (verse 7). From this image we are trying to show that God directs all creatures, all actions and things from the biggest to the smallest." This does not mean that no one will die in the war. This means he can save his slave's life if he wants to. He can move and control so directly that his servant can be fearless even in the midst of events. Only in this confidence and reliance can a Christian stand firm in many dangerous places without bowing to fear. “God is our safe haven, our strength and our help in times of crisis. He is always active in helping. If the earth is changed, if the foundations of the mountains are uprooted in the depths of the sea ... yet we will not be afraid ”(Psalm 46: 1-3).

We consider what the Bible teaches in more detail about God's oversight.

(1) We notice what the Scriptures teach about the complete control of nature (what we say). At His command the sun shines on all men, good and evil, and rain falls on the righteous and the unrighteous "(Matthew 5:45). He produces grass for animals and herbs for human service; That the earth may produce food” (Psalm 104: 14). And "in the breath of God water is frozen, turned into piles of solid ice... Under His direction stars float in the sky, and in all the world they obey His commands" (Job 37:10, 12). We often think that all this happens accidentally or mechanically. But the Bible says that God has complete control over them.

(2) Notice what God says about mankind on earth. No matter how many times we think, they are out of control. They sit and do unexpected things, like they suddenly go out on a mission. But the Bible says, "... the Sovereign Lord God is the true Sovereign of all the kingdoms of the world" (Daniel 4:25). "The six seasons are obeying him, and tomorrow is at his beck and call, and the princes are at his beck and call" (Daniel 2:21). So, when something happens, there is no contingency in it. "Fate" or "Luck" does not revolve around the wheel of human history. The Lord "specified their historical place and time" (Acts 17:28).

(3) We even see in the Bible that God has perfect control over everything in the world. “The Lord is the destroyer, the Lord is the giver of life, He is the One who descends to the abyss, He is the One who lifts up .... The Lord is the ruler of the pillars of the earth, and he has placed the world upon them ”(1 Sam. 2: 6-8). Just as the life and death of a sparrow depend on God's care, so too do humans rely on God in all things. The Lord has also counted the hair of his head according to the longevity of man on earth.

(4) Finally, we need to realize that God maintains control over man's free will. We know this because the Bible says, "Man can make many plans in his heart, but the Lord answers with the word of his tongue" (Proverbs 16: 1). The apostle said to the Christian, "It is God who inspires the hearts of the believers so that their desires and actions may be pleasing to Him" (Philippians 2:13). When a person thinks about what he will do, what he will say, he may not realize that God also decides with him. But that is the fact. This also applies to unbelievers. Because the wrath of man will praise you. And you will be bound by the remnant of wrath (Psalm 76:10). This is what God means when he says that the “question and answer” is that God “rules over all his creatures and all their activity.”

General objection

There are many who want to be Christians, yet they object to God's doctrine of absolute control over all things. They want to believe that God can control the world in any way. They want to believe that God has control over 'everything'. But they do not want to admit that he controls even the "smallest details." They do not want to admit that “he decides on small things according to big things. In answering this view, we are reminded of a well-known story. The story goes like this: The army was defeated in the absence of the commander. The commander was delayed in the absence of the horse. The horse could not be found due to the lack of hooves. The horse could not be nailed due to the lack of a nail." In other words, "big things" actually depend on "small things." If small things are not controlled, big things cannot be controlled. But when the people think of God's control over all things, they face real difficulties. The question arises, “If God controls all my actions, how can I be blamed for my actions?” Or, to put it another way, doesn't this doctrine mean that people are not responsible for what they do? In response, we can say only one thing: We do not understand how God controls all our actions. Yet we are responsible for all our actions. There is no way to explain this truth. But it is enough for us to know that this is true. It is enough for us to know that the Bible teaches us two things. We know from the Bible that we are responsible. We know from the Bible that we work with real freedom (that is, we are not being forced to do so by any external force). And from this same Bible we also know that God controls us; He decides what we do. So we accept this teaching, not because we cannot explain it. The Bible is one of the strongest proofs of God's Word - the Bible teaches this kind of

doctrine. "The great works of the Lord God, those who rejoice in his works, want to know the true meaning of these works" (Ps. 111: 2). If we can grasp everything revealed in the Bible, it will be the only proof that the Bible is not the truth of God. We know that this is the perfect image of God, because His greatness is revealed here. We trust Him, we trust upon Him, because He can do so much beyond our asking or thinking! This is an important aspect of the Christian faith. If God truly controls all things - even the actions of the wicked person (God is not the master of sin - He controls it, but He is not its creator) - then the trust of believers is in: “Those who love God, those who are called according to his purpose. , God is good to them in all things ”(Romans 8:28). The Christian who believes in God's oversight of all creatures and His control over their actions will not be intimidated by lightning and will not be terrified in the face of danger. He will know that the fate of him and the whole world is in the hands of the Father. He will know that no accident can remove him from the world until his father's plan is implemented in his life. When sickness, danger, or persecution come, he will know that it is part of God's dealings with him.
